does anyone know what compression should be on a 02 trailblazer?

my trailblazer has been acting up and one of the things me and my uncle checked was the compression. it peaked at only maybe 65. i wonder if maybe my piston ring is gone bad. the compression gauge is new and we tested it works fine. we tested my quad 5 times and it read the same everytime. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

u will definitataly need to replace at leas thte piston and the rings, a better choice would be to send it to either rick ritter, dennis shotwell, hotseat or aaen and have them bore it and get a wiseco. i would also suggest porting it. u will get alot more use out of that huge carb. did u have to ditch the airbox for that carb??
i just got my cylinder back from dennis about a month ago, it runs very fast compared to a stock tb. and he only charged me 100 bucks for a trail port. a very good deal.

yea i had to ditch the airbox. the carb just wouldnt fit at all with the airbox. couple bad things is i have to be carefull aroung water. and my shifter rubs on my airfilter. im working on making a custom airbox to get rid of the rubbing, and to get it where i can hit some water. man that sucks that i have to get that done to my quad, but i wanted to get all that done anyway, maybe its a blessing in desguise. lol. Now if i can get the wife talked into letting me get it done soon. i supposed to go to St joes this sunday. i wish i could have it running strong b4 i go, but looks like i will have to take it limping. lol.

well if u really wanted to ride this weekend u could pull the cylinder and wash the cylinder with some hot soapy water and use a scotch brite pad and get the glaze off, then u can install a new set of polaris rings then when u have time u can pull the head and jug again and have it bored, ported and have the head milled. good luck. oh ya replace your gaskets anytime u remove the cylinder.

i never really got a good chance to test top speed but it let the motor pull much better. the stock 11 tooth was jsut revs, teh 12 tooth picked up and went. it was much more fun to drive. it jsut let the motor pull better every where. so are u gonna do the re ring thing for this weekend and then have it bored etc...
