Default retarding cam shaft

I have an 04 YFZ with a slip on pipe, no aibox lid, and jetted. I ride with a lot of people on motorcycles and while I am still fast I need more speed. I have a detailed rundown of how to retard the cam one notch, my question is what kind of power gain should I expect and how difficult is this to do??? What are the next steps in power for me????

thx

i understand that the cam mod changes the position of the decompression pin which adds alot of stress to the starter system which leads to premature failure and hard starts.
