Default clutch cover is being stubborn... any ideas?

for those of you who dont know, i have a clutch slippage problem and am trying to take the case off to see what my problem is (so i have taken it off before, and i know it gets a bit sticky, but this time its somthing different)

ALL bolts are out (including starter bolts)
No peg/bolts are in
clutch cable is off.

By pushing the actuator, i can get the case to come off about 2 mm (all the way around) but after that, it wont budge.

i dont know what else to do (if i did break teeth on that actuator, im wondering if this is giving me a problem?)

i dont want to pull TOO hard as i dont want to crack/break anything. is there somthing im overlooking?

id like to have it off today so i can find out whats wrong and maybe order the parts.

let me know what you guys think

it seems to be getting hung up in the middle of the case (as it pulls out it pulls out even around the entire thing) so i think its in the middle somehow, or has somthing to do with the teeth on that splined shaft.

my fingers are actually sore from tugging/tapping/yanking on it.

you did try to move your act arm back? it kind of unscrews as the cover comes off.

ya, ive been using that to get the cover to move, but i can only get it to turn a small amount (to get it 2mm away ) and then it just stops (with a liberal amount of pressure i cant get it to go any further, and didnt know if i cranked too hard it would strip/damage the teeth)

the arm should be pointing backwords when the cover comes off. but you might have a broken tooth in there.

WHen I did mine, I had the same problem. I used some channel locks and turn the post on the outside in the rotation that would get the cover off. It was a pain because the tooth from the actuator got stuck on the post, which prevented it from coming off smoothly.

Turn it back and forth and when it starts to come off turn it gently in that direction. Hope this helps! Gook luck

been there it's the teeth are jamming. good luck if you get to madd a lot of force will bust it loose but you will end up replacing both pieces, but you might need to already.

well it has to come off so i guess force is the only way... (i heard you say it gets stuck if the teeth are broken)

what does each piece cost? hopefully once i get the new ones i dont have to go through this again.
