installed slip-on, and jetted it, but raptor is backfiring
#1
when i put on my slipon, i also removed the snorkel, and put in the new jets with it, when i checked the needle, it was already on the third clip to where its supsoed to be. i never adjusted the air/fuel screws, because i couldnt find them. everytime i let off the gas or downshift, it putters and backfires, but works extremeley well while accelerating. it only backfires when i let off, what could be causing this? could it be the air/fuel screws? thanks

very good chance...sounds like it is starving for fuel. Mine did the same thing when I was lower on gas than I should have been...it accelerated fine, but backfired when letting off the gas. I would do the air/fuel adjustments.

What happens if you take the lid off. With my Raptor and pretty much the same mods that you have, I didn't have to re-jet until I took the lid off. How was it running before you did the mods and did you do all of them at the same time. It makes it easier to adjust if you do one mod at a time and then ride it to see how it runs. That way you'll know what each mod is doing to your performance.

the air screws are pointing down,,,,and located near where the carb fits into the boot on the head
they can be adjusted with a special 90 degree screwdriver or just take the carbs off and flip them over (you will see a screw inside a hole on each carb)
