questions on oil block off

Default questions on oil block off

i see that hsp and azbadboyz just sell the block off plates and says nothing about new throttle cable. but on rcr and hpd they say to get the single throttle cable. do u really need it because some have it others dont. could someone explain??

I got the single cable when i blocked mine off. The stock cable can still be used if you want though.

They say you can zip tie it out of the way and use your stock cable, though I personally wouldnt. You can spring for a single cable or you can do like I did and modify your stock one. The little joiner box can be taken apart with a flat head screw driver and the oil injection cable pulled out . Use a bit of super glue and seal the box back together again = home made single cable.

I got the RCR block off kit. I didn't want to worry about a stuck throttle after you coil up or cut off the oil pump cable.

so technicallly it isnt necessary? i can pull out the oil cable and block off the whole.

also what do u guys mix at? i will be using polaris blue oil cuz i got craploads of it

Scrambler123, there is no need to mix that rich, your just wasting money on expensive oil. TB, mix the blue anywhere from 32:1 to 40:1. I have always mixed at 36:1 using klotz (just my taste). Dont forget you might have to tweak on the jetting because there will be less gas flowing through the jet afterwards. The oil takes the place of some gas and it will lean everything out just a hair.

ya i was thinkin around 34:1 and it running leani will keep an eye on but its runnign real rich right now. did u see my old post bubba?? about it bogging?

I am using that same oil and mixing 40:1 although I had to jump up a jet size and have now had to change my pilot jet also. But that was with a few other mods thrown in. As for the cable I just cut mine off and taped the end so it wouldnt get dirt or junk in it, havent had a problem but I will probably order the single cable just to be safe.
