i was loking at some ofmy passed dirtwheel magazines and noticed that the august 2003 issue says that the yfz450 has 45 hp. It said this once on the cover and then again inside. how can this be? they couldnt have made that many mistakes if it wasnt true could they?

I would say it would be close with the cam mod and air box lid off w/ rejetting.

 

45 with a slip on, no lid jetted up.


or 45 with cam mod, baffle out, jetted up no lid.



but not 45 stock.

 

They can make all the mistakes they want, they're Dirtwheels! (IMO they never have the facts straight and if they do its because they waited for another mag to find out first) They have weird results from shootouts and horrible accuracy when it comes to machine specs and hp numbers, as well as testing of aftermarket products. I just buy 'em for the letters section. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I hope the smiley means you're kidding, yeah they have a lot of power in a small package but they have less power number-wise than stock rappys and shees. Not to say that means they're slower, I know a YFZ can kick my @$$ in a drag unless I get some mods going, they have a better power to weight ratio. I dont mean any disrespect speedy, but if you werent kidding then you just need to pay a little more attention. For example I remember you telling me once that warriors have 45hp stock. (Didnt sound sarcastic but for your sake I hope it was)

 

What do you mean less power number wise than a rappy and shee? I thought they had more hp stock than both of them?
