Polaris5610--- what year was your first 700? Why did you sell it? Mine has constantly had little things go wrong on it and it has shyed me away from Polaris. I love the way it rides and handles though so I hesitate to go with a different brand the next time around. What's been your experiemce, overall, with your Sportsmans??? Thanks!

It was a 2002. I didn't sell due to problems, it was a great ATV (really good since it was it's first year out). The main reason I sold was to upgrade, I knew that I had a great ATV before and I couldn't help but think what EFI would be like on it. I also was in love with the 2004 Sportsman's looks. I only had two problems when I owned it, the waterpump went out (recall) and my starter went out (warranty). I had 2200 miles when I sold it. All that being said, they say the 2002s had more problems than the 2004s. This was the first year Polaris had the 700 twin out, and it's not just a 500 with a 700 motor in it as most people think. Almost everything is different on it other than the basic frame and plastic (different front end). I'm talking about the 2002 500 vs. 2002 700. I now have 900 miles on my new EFI and it has been back to the shop 0 times. I hope this trend continues, and I'm pretty sure it will. It feels like a very well built ATV, and I'm not easy on it either. It's already been in water passed the racks and in some really bad mud. I would not own anything other than a Polaris just because of the luck I have had with there "unstoppable" Sportsman line. If you've been thinking of getting a 700 EFI sale that old 700 and get one! You have my word, this will not let you down. BTW I got $4550 out of my 02 with 2200miles on it, so that paid for 2/3 of the EFI. I hope that you have the same luck as me and just about everyother EFI owner.

Yea can't wait, I have had extreamly good luck with polaris quads, sportsmans in particular. You wold really have to twist my arm to get me to ride anything else. I would love to see ae 500HO fuel injucted withe a rope back up starter. Do ya think they will ever put FI on the 500's?

Polaris5610- How's the power on the EFI compared to the carb'd version? About the same? My friend has a '02 660 Grizzly that eats me up in races (his machine is stock).

The 700 EFI WILL out run every stock 4x4 execpt the Kawi 700 and 750. I hear that the 700 EFI has more topend than the Kawi 700 though. There is a difference! And you can feel it everytime you hit the gas. The 700 EFI will pop a wheelie in high if you pull on the bars a little.

Well, I am thinking I will be getting a ne3w quad here soon....but I am going to wait until Polaris releases thier '05 and see how they stack up against the new '05 'Zuki King Quad. Should be an intresting match up against the 700 EFI (or maybe that 800 we keep hearing about????).
