Default spring noise

I think i have read a post about this before but im having trouble locating it.

I have an 05 DS 650 and I noticed that around 4500-5500 RPMs the springs on the muffler joint are viberating against the pipe where the headers and slip on meet. I was thinking of getting a piece of radiator hose or something and zip-tieing it to the springs. Is there anyone else out there that has the same problem? if so what was your fix. I dont want to live with the problem because it makes the bike sound like its all loose.

Thanks,
Hez

I dont have the problem on my DS, but on my sleds I use a bead of rtv down the spring to stop the noise, if you dont mind the look it could help.

I had the rattle issue and ended up tapping on the spring brackets and pushing them away from each other, this raises the spring and makes it a little stiffer to get on but moves it far enough away from the pipe that it doesn't make contact or noise any more.

I used to have the noise, but I don't anymore. I think it went away when I removed and reinstalled my pipe. I'd bet if you just move your springs around it'll go away. I've had the noise on both of my DSs and never tried to solve it, and now it is gone - so who knows what the real fix was, but I think it was likely just moving stuff around since it is just a contact vibration - slighlty different contact means no vibration.
