Hello all. I'm curiou if running 40:1 is dangerous using either motul 600 or Maxim Castor 927. I know the recommended is 24:1. How is the Belray MC-1?

Thanks,

Jason

I run the 927 at 32 to 1 usually, but if jetted correctly I don't think you would have a problem with 40 to 1. I have ran my GP760 at 40:1 with the 927 and never had a problem. I have been told the 927 is dirty but everytime I have had my bike apart everything looked clean to me. One of the shops in town told me not to use the mc-1, but to use yamalube r. Could just be his thoughts.

I use MC-1 mixed about 45:1. I went 8 years on my Banshee without a rebuild. When I finaly did tear it down, the cylenders still looked good.

Yeah 40:1 is dangerous. If your bike is stock you better be running it 32:1 and nothing else also you need to be using Yamaha's Yamalube 2R oil which has been proven in tests to be the best two stroke oil for the banshee. It alows more horsepower and durability!

Is yamalube really better everyone? Is this true? I don't here much about it. I'm considering using MC-1 soon.

I have used many diff oils.... Maxima927 is very dirty, Yamalube is a great oil and burns very clean. As of right now I am running Amsoil @ 50:1.
As long as your jetted correctly to the ratio that your using you should be fine. (I dont reccomend using yamalube or maxima927 at 50:1) Yamalube was the only oil that I ran that did not show any wear or left any carbon on the piston/cyl wall

I have used both Yamaluba 2R and MC-1. I run 2R at 40:1 with no problems. I run MC-1 at 50:1. Mc-1 is a full synthetic while 2R is a semisynthetic. My friend ran his Pilot for 7 years on the same topend on MC-1 without changing a single thing. When he took it apart all he did was hone the cylinder and put a new piston in it. I've gone two years on 2R and MC-1 with the same stock spark plugs as what came on my Banshee. Either works well.

Thanks for the info. What's the difference between senthetic and non-senthetic? Is the senthetic better? Why?

Thanks,

Jason

Yeah, man, it's a blast! I love it! I'm glad I got the shee instead of anything else! It feels geared a little high for tracks, but I"m no pro so It's just my feeling. I"m gonna find out when I put a 44 tooth rear sprocket on it. Best way to find out I guess. No, have no real intentions of racing now. I just love riding.
