i want to know if the heat sheld from 04 will bolt up to an 03 the 03 anmost burns ya they said that they improved it from 03 also say i destroy a tranny will the upgraded 04 be compatible with the 03 have no prob. now but am looking down the road... they dont stay new forever...

 

The heatshield won't bolt up directly, the bolt spacing is different. The trans upgrade would require new crankcases for the 04.

 

the 04 tranny upgrade doesnt require new cases...

 

A number of people have stated the cases are different, you can't install all the 04 parts in the 03 cases.

I'm not sure you got what you think you got from your dealer. Go to pred owners and search the drivetrain section, the differences are described there....

 

upgraded shift forks and shift barrel... i no what i got... i helped put them in.

lol... well... all the 03 parts were superseated with the 04 parts, so 03 parts werent avalible anymore...

From the info gathered the differences are explained, there was talk and a part number for an 03 update kit from Polaris. Is this what you got Hozed? How did your new parts compare to the old ones design-wise?
