That is the starter relay..it goes "click" and then your starter should turn over. If not check your battery voltage. If it is good check the power is going across the relay (one wire with power to two when you press start). If it isn't get a new relay if it is check starter connections and starter motor itself for problems.

Also check the screws holding your battery terminals on. Mine loosen over time and I get that click too.

Same thing happen to my buddy's quad, believe it or not, his battery was bad. Wierd sounds were coming out of that box, but it was the battery that was causing the problem. Even though the headlights would turn on bright, I guess there wasn't enough juice to turn over the engine.

Its your ground on one of your side cases chase that wire from the fuse box down the frame and over on the left case next to the starter cover, check of that bolt is snug, dont over tighten or youll be sorry. Happened to be last time i was at the cinders i was like WTF then i figured it out, easy fix.

a 400EX is a POS? am I reading that right? Are you nuts? the 400EX is one of the best bulletproof quads on the market.
If you think it's a POS you don't know what you're talking about.

I am not saying a 400ex is a POS but i would never sell a Raptor for one. I would consider the yfz, 450r or the z over the 400ex.
