Default Raptor Shift LEVER - Shift Linkage IMS SHIFTER!

There are a few good shift levers out there that are better than stock, but they still retain the stock LINKAGE!!!! I want Linkageless LOL...I am looking at gettin the IMS lever, for i have the ALBA and it still has that d4mn linkage. Is there a real advantage to the IMS, not having a linkage, and when i get this if this is the way to go HOW DO I REMOVE THE LINKAGE???żżż

Help would be appreciated!

the direct shifters are nice

it will be a longer throw between gears,,,,a little adjjustment and you will eventually like the 'positive' shift feel.

unbolt the old one,,,,bolt on the new one directly to the shift rod

also do a search on 'shifter' in the yamaha forum

You'll definitely love the direct shifter much better. I've had mine for almost a year now and I would never go back to a linkage shifter. All you have to do is unbolt the stock shifter from the shift shaft and slide that sucker out of there and out of the little peg on the foot pegs...

Those who have direct shifters what do you have? What options are there?

I've got the IMS direct shifter. Been on for over a year and no problems. I like it much better than the stock setup.

I have both, the IMS on my 2004 raptor and the Pro design on my 02 and believe it or not but the IMS shifts better only because l have been having problems shifting on the 02. It seems on the Pro Design I have to pull up higher on the shifter to get it into gear. For being half the price the IMS is well worth the money.

I have the Roll Design (IMS) shifter. It works great - took all the slop out of the shifting when I was able to trash the stock linkage system. Why Yamaha uses the linkage is beyond me...
