Default Best ATV Quality = Yamaha?

I read a lot about the brands and seem to be convinced its Honda vs. Yamaha.

To those who are very experienced ATVers, what do you think?

Usually Honda has higher quality parts from the factory. But that really doesn't matter if it's put into a stupid riders hands.

without a question, honda makes the better product as far as quality goes. how many hondas have you heard of crapping out there one way, transmission, batteries, connecting rods, ect? not to mention all of the horror stories I have heard about yfz's literally blowing up. stay away from yamaha when it comes to brand new models.

Suzuki was one of the worst offenders in reliability back in the day. It seems that the different manufacturers get closer and closer every year. Even polaris is making decently reliable machines these days. I would suggest looking at a specific model and not the line as a whole. Every company has some bulletproof machines, and others that are prone to problems.

Eh...... Honda's machines are usually the best designed as long as you leave em stock and the best designed as far as the small things. Yamahas seem to be less thought out but more extreme. You get the cutting edge, but sometimes its ragged. With honda you get stuff thats been on the drawing board so long its way behind the competetion.

I would say that maddog56 and Scrambler123 said it best....base it on individual machines not the whole product line, and also how well you maintain them.....with that said, I would say that Honda might be a tad more reliable then Yamaha, but Yamaha has better performing machines then Honda, JMO.

I have owned 9 Hondas, 3 Suzukis, and 2 Yamahas. That is the order in which I rank them!
