Who is running an FMF MegaMaxII???
#1
I have these on my Ranchers, Recon, and 250EX. We have a new 96dB sound limit here in Calif., so I might have to run a quietcore??? I agree with the "less sound means more ground" philosophy, so I am happy to quiet my bikes down. And, I ride the utes mostly in the national forest anyway.
So, how many disks are you running, and how loud is it??? FMF says run 11-13 disks for all-around power, and more for increased top end (but this would be wickedly loud!). And, a quietcore and/or less discs for more low end (but never less than 8 discs.).
I need relatively quiet bikes, so I guess I will have to tune for low end (which I kind of prefer anyway). I am currently running 8 disks, and no quietcore, and although I have not tested the sound, I think it is borderline 96dB, if not over. I was thinking maybe the quietcore and 8-11 discs, whatever will keep me below 96dB???
