450R faster than a Raptor?
#1
I am considering buying a new TRX 450R. I used to own a Yamaha Raptor but I had to get rid of it, which I didnt mind because it kept breaking down on me and costing me money. My question is are the Honda ATVs built better and also what is the top end speed of the 450R? Will it beat my friends Raptor in a race? Will it beat my friends new Suzuki 400?

the 450r is probably more realiable than the rap and in a drag the 450r will beat a raptor and z400 pretty easy (these are if there stock). The raptor is faster on top end, then the 450r is faster than the z.

The top speed I've seen posted on a stock 450r is 69mph in a mag shootout. Great bike my friend has one. Only issue is the kick start sucks, especially on trail rides when you may stall it a few times....get's old quick.

I bet you will love that honda...whether it is faster than another bike is pointless to me....but I have noticed that rider skill plays a very important part and most stock bikes 450 and up are pretty close to one another.
from my own personal experiance...I know a 400 size bike can not beat my 660(duh) stock...they can hang, and ride and have fun but wont pass me unless I let them....
450's...I dont know...many say they are faster but I havent seen it with my own 2 eyes yet...seems like the gearing is better for acceleration on them 450's
good luck and enjoy the dirt

I raced a Limited Edition 2003 Raptor with full exhaust, jet kit, and a durablue axle with holeshots on rear and smoked him. I have a 2005 black Honda 450R. I also raced a 99 Banshe with lots of mods and smoked it too. And a stock Troy Lee Predator. I raced them all yesterday on a gravel road, from a dead stop for about 250 yards. I havent been beat yet.
