Default A few Prairie Repair Questions?

1) Check the fuse block. Clean and apply dielectric grease to fuses.

2) Thrust bearing may be dirty. Pull cover off and check all the screws for tightness too.

3) No. Check the bolts on the base of the stem and the tie rods for looseness. Might as well check the ball joints too.

Sounds like "sound" advice from DWB.

My steering is also loose and it looks like its coming from the bottom of the steering stem also.

Default A few Prairie Repair Questions?

Thanks DWB good advice! But anymore ideas let me know? 4 wheel drive I guess had to be from the GNCC race? I lost it there from doing a lot of switching back and forth while I was going to fast. The week after I went over the quad pretty good, and thought I fixed it? I also wasn't sure if one needed to add shims when changing clutch springs? Ive heard you do, and don't??~lol. The steering on the other hand maybe just worn from Hard riding? I'm going to try a new steering collar? Thats where the play is, and on my R, I went through a few collars. I'm pretty good about going over everything, After flying over the handle bars when My a-arm bolt snapped? or came lose? Its easy to remember to go over the quad~lol. I'll Give you all an example and tell me if I sound a little xtreme? Hopefully some of you guys are the same?~lol.. After I get home from a ride the very next day along with the days following a few hours here and there, ALL the plastic comes off, and the Quad is cleaned from top to bottom. Making double sure the radiator is super clean. I check the fuses and have used dielectric grease a few times. I even have a bunch of fuses and have changed a few just so they stay fresh and new looking?~lol. I even take the bottom armor off sometimes and clean under the quad. I was going to clean under this week, but almost all of my bottom bolts are smashed, Opps the armor wont be coming off anytime soon.~lol. Basically ALL bolts are checked and a little dab of silicone grease is shot here and there. In the last 10 months that Ive had the Prairie, My belt cover has been off five or six times, Not only have I checked the bolts But I want that SUCKER Super clean inside! This might be a waste or wrong? But I have conditioned the belt with belt dressing once or twice as well. The Air filter is cleaned and re-oiled just about every ride and Ive changed my oil At least 6 times. I'm trying to think if I missed anything?~LOL I know it might sound like over kill? But with the hard and fast riding I sometimes do, I don't wanna take any chances with my machine not being 100%. Ive got almost 1800 miles with 135 hours and she's running VERY good besides the few little challanges I'm having, and they may just be a few things needing to be replaced? ~coop

How do you guys clean and set up your Quad before the next ride?
