What bike are you working on?

On the sport model Hondas, you have to loosen the large jam nut on the center of the right side axle between the brake rotor and the hub. After that, loosen the large tube piece with the nut-shaped top that was previously jammed by the jam nut. It should turn the same way. What that does is pull the threaded part inside the tube nut, exposing a snap-ring.

If it's not a sport model, I don't know.

You do not need to take the sprocket or sprocket holder off. The axle will slide out from this side. You may need to pound it out with a rubber mallet from the other side.

You do need to remove the brake rotor and the holder. If you turned both of the axle nuts all the way off the threaded collar, you didn't need to. You needed to loosen it enough to remove the c-clip that wraps around the axle. This c-clip is hidden under the threaded collar. This is what holds the collar on the axle.

Let me know if you need more help.

You need to pull the two bolts holding the caliper on (like when you change the pads). From memory (it's been a few years): I think the disc and the hub it's on will then slide off to the right side. After that, the axle should slide out the left side with the sprocket still attached. The large axle nut you already removed and the threaded tube inside it are what hold the axle tight with the sprocket on the left and the nut/brake disc on the right.

I know this isnt much help, but i would suggest getting a maintnence manual for the bike. It is like 35 bucks and well worth it. It gives you pictures and detailed instructions.

Default replacing rear axle bearing need HELP

thanks alot for the help guys. i already took off the brake caliper and put it out of the way. now, There is no nuts holding the brake rotor bracket or the brake claiper bracket in place. there looks like a spacer or something in a circle shape that is in the middle if the brake rotor bracket(it spins on the circle) so how do i remove the rotor bracket off the axle. next behind the rotor bracket there is a snap ring on the brake caliper bracket. what is that snap ring for.thanks

If you've already taken off the large nut, jam nut and the splined tube that threads inside both of those, the brake rotor/hub should just slide off the splines and off the axle. The large snap ring behind all that (holding the caliper bracket) holds the bearing carrier into the swingarm. Think of the caliper bracket as a large washer sitting against the swingarm. The flange with the slots where you adjust the chain is the part that pulls up against the other side of the swingarm.
