450R shocks on 400EX.

Does anyone know if the front 450R shocks will fit on the 400EX? I could pick up a pair on ebay cheaper than it would be to buy works shocks. So will they fit and will they work as good on my 400ex as they do on the 450R? Also 450r a-arms are wider right? So would they fit on the 400ex?

No they will not bolt right up! My friend and I tried to bolt mine on his 400ex last weekend but they will not work without a little modification. Looks like you would have to do a little grinding on the top mount to get them to work. Other than that though, I think they will work! How much were the shocks on ebay going for? I have my fronts that have only been used 6 times that I am wanting to sell. I got Elka Elites all the way around for my 450R. They are pretty sweet. I was going to keep the stockers for a while, but then I got Lonestar +2 A-arms so I had to either revalve or get new shocks, so I got new ones and went ahead and got the rear with the linkage while I was at it!

I've seen two different sets go for about $160 on Ebay. Sure sounds like a good deal for the wife's 400EX. Are the 450R stock shocks really that much better than 400EX shocks? I'd guess they'd have to be, cause I think the EX shocks suck *** even compared to the stock shocks on my Raptor.

I bolted a rear 450R shock on my 400EX with no problems. I bought it off of ebay for $150.00. Brand new. no dust or rubs on it. I did not have to mod my 400 either.

How is the performance difference with the 450r rear shock? Sorry Durabluz, but I can't spend 450 dollars on a set of used OEM shocks! With that kind of money I would put a set of Triple Rate Works on my front end that a set up just for me and will fit without being modified for that kind of money.
Edit: Sorry I had to fix my spelling it looked like a 3rd grader wrote it.
