Yes you do. To jet the main jet.
***FIRST TURN OFF GAS***UNPLUG FUEL LINES***AND LOSSEN INTAKE BOOTS****
1. You need to remove the carb bowl. It is the bottom of the carb. There are 4 phillips head screws that hold it on.
2. Look inside the carb and you will see a goldish hexagon bolt head ( about 1/4") It will have a plastic guard around it.
3. With your hand pull it straight off and put aside.
4. Now you can unscrew the Main jet.
5. I would start with a jet about 8 sizes bigger. (buy at store) exe: 170 to a 180= 1 size bigger
YOu can read the jet size its on the jet.
6. Screw the new main jet in and put the plastic cover back on
7. screw on the float bowl.
Now tighten intake, plug in fuel lines, and turn gas on
This is where you do the WOT Plug chop that is explained in the jettin faq I posted.
When that is done you can play with the air screws and the needle setting.

no no no. When i say about 8 sizes bigger I mean this
Say your bike now has a size 170 main jet in it now. 8 sizes bigger would be a size 250 main jet. the bigger the number = the bigger the opening in the jet. Which means it will alow more gas in the motor to even out the more air that your moveing because of the pipe.
A jet goes for $3-$4 each.
Now your done when the base ring color of the plug after the WOT plug chop looks light brown. White means you need a bigger size jet and black means you need a smaller size jet.
From the sound of your knowlege in this you may wanna look in to having a dealer do it for you. Not saying you can't it really isn't that hard but you may wanna have your dad help atleast. But remember were always here to help. ANd honestley read the jetting faq I posted it has pics and the answers to all your questions.
