800 EFI HORSE POWER

A more important question is WHY NONE OF THE QUAD MFG'S ever give out HP and torque numbers like the auto mfg's do!!!! It's all about cc's...but that doesn't tell much of the REAL story. So why not publish HP and torque numbers?

its probably because it sounds weak. the big bore utilitys have around 35-50 HP and 35-50 lb-ft of torque, now wouldnt you rather advertise numbers that are in the hundreds like a 400cc or 800cc makes it seem bigger.

I think that I read somewhere that it is really hard to do a dyno on an atv with a cvt...dont remember why...and then I think you can also fool it by messing around with the cluth weights and springs

Hp the motor puts out means nothing. Its what makes it to the wheels that matters and i read somewhere that polaris avts lost alot of power from the motor to the wheels but i dont know if that is true or not.

polaris5610, I guess my estimate of 53 was pretty close then eh? LOL The extra 80cc's and dual exhaust should be good for a decent increase
Chris23, yes they do loose a lot from crank to wheels, ALL CVT type (belt drive) transmissions loose quit a bit of power. Just like on snowmobiles you only really get about 50-55% of the power to the wheels. That is why a good clutch setup makes a world of difference!!! So for all you 700 owners your only really getting about 25hp at the wheels!.... but same goes for Yams, Kaws, Cats, etc.
