The dealer I talked to said Polaris is discontinuing the 400 for 2001 and the latest Dirtwheels doesn't mention it. Sounds like a step backwards for Polaris.

It is a real shame to dicontinue these two models. The folks at Polaris apparently are leaning towards an all 4-stroke fleet. Two-stroke machines are not for everyone but I would own nothing else.

Dune400ex,

Perhaps your dealer is mistaken. I just checked out the new 2001 models and they do have both the 400 2x4 and the 4x4 Scrambler models. In fact, the 2x4 model is going to (finally) get the twin headlights of it's 4x4 brothers. The demise of the two strokes has been greatly exaggerated. Now if Algore gets in office, you might as well kiss ALL of the ATVs good-bye.
