02 375 2x4 Jetting
#1
I bought a 2002 AC 375 2x4 today for the wife. The guy I got it from had it rejetted for Colorado's high country (12K feet). Obviously, it runs poorly here at 5000 feet. Was wondering if anyone had the info on the stock jetting (main, needle position, slow jet, etc).

Cmdrben, I believe your cabrorator is a Keihin CVK32. It should say KEIHN on the carborator body if you look at it and its not covered with too much mud.
For this carborator my manual has the following stock specifications:
Main jet 138 or 135
Slow jet 38
Starter jet 60 or 65
This would restore the carborator to factory but may not make it run much better at 5000ft level. I personally am not familiar with jetting a carborator and do not know which way to go from factory to jet the carb for your altitude. I have had mine AC with stock jetting up about 5400ft and did not experience any performance problems with stock jetting. I do most of my riding between 0-2500ft elevation.
hope this helps

CmdrBen, When you drop down in altitude you richen the carb up. I would recommend you look and see what jets are in the carb and go about half way between that and factory stock. My 250 does fine even up to 6500 feet, the idle gets a bit rich, but mid range and WOT are ok that high. The idle does ok until about 4500 feet.
