is that true that theres a auto-clutch for the Z-400? (i think brand rekluse make it)

i have heard of it for a DRZ 400 which is the dirt bike that the z 400 got it's motor from and rockymountainatv .com has the cluth

i would suppose it'd work on the z

 

Yes, there is a kit for it. I remember reading about it here in the forums a couple weeks ago. It was specifically for the Z400 as well. Sounded cool as hell. I rememer the kit costing around $500. You were still able to use the clutch as well which is neat.

 

A friend of mine just bought a used z with a revloc. It works ok . The tiny little bolts that hold the pressure plate on came loose and pretty much destroyed it though. If you are doing hare scrambles or mudding a lot then they might be worth it. They are very easy to ruin if you dont know how to use it properly. They seem kind of pointless to me. He putting in a stock setup .

I gave up racing years ago but I do play at dyracuse once in a while. Tigerton has a nice track as well.

 

why do u ask a bunch of quesions about the z400, and then the z250, and then the z400 again?

I blew up my left hand back in 95 so I researched this topic and there are a couple of companies that offer they were rekluse and rev loc or maybe the second one I listed was rev tec anyways my point is you can research this on the net and find way more positive things than negative also ATVRIDERmag did a test and you didn't loose any performance. The cool thing is this you do not loose your manual clutch lever it remains there to be used whenever the spirit moves you or you feel the need to rev and drop the clutch. as for weight it is only 6ozs. dependabilty is also vey high. WISTECH says he knew of one and it failed. Who installed it ,did they know what they were doing? No offense ment but I have turned wrenches and I have made simple mistakes that ended up costing money luckily I am allways willing to lay blame on myself if need be. Then again sometimes you will get a defective part. These cluthes are also great for riding with your kids and for slower more technical trails. Check rocky mountain atv they were listing them for around 400.00 bucks.

 

He bought the quad from a guy who Im sure was a amature wrench. The tiny little bolts that hold the pressure plate on have to be torqued perfectly or they will snap off or fall out. Revloc said they had a bunch of failures from people thinkng the quad was an automatic and driving around in fifth gear all the time. That smokes them quick. They say clutch will last as long as a stocker but I dont see how . With a manual your either in or out. With the auto it lets go at lower speeds and then grabs again when you give it fuel.It. I just seems there would be more engagement transition that way. They would be perfect for those without use of the left hand.
