What kind of pipe should i get for my ds 650
#2
Depends, I enjoy my Ct pipe. But not many run it. Ron woods makes a great exhaust system and it looks and sounds good aswell. If your just wanting a slip on, try Fmf. If your planning on motor modding for strict drag racing try a Mr. Hp ugly stick drag pipe.

Endcaps are great unless you want to ride on public land. You can be ticketed on most BLM and All forest service land for running without a spark arrestor and an additional fine for being over 96 DB on Forest service lands.

I think I'd go with the HMF, it's the most bang for your buck, and it has a quiet core as well as spark arrester available. What more could you ask for? Open it up when you want to, and plug it up quiet when it needs to be in hush mode.

Blackhawk..do you have an HMF with quiet core insert? If so, does it really quiet it dow? The reason I ask is that a buddy of mine has the HMF slip on for the YFZ450 and when he installed the "quiet core"..it didn't make hardly any difference in sound. One of the main places we ride is now cracking down on sound and he was told to put the loud Yammy back on the trailer. I have the moded end cap, and I know for sure I'd be too loud.
Does anyone make a good..QUIET pipe for the DS...Some 600cc street bikes make well over 80hp and with their stock set-up..not loud at all?? Us atvers are gettin the short end of the stick when it comes to motor technology...

I have the new CT pipe with the disk system and it makes good HP (dynoed by randle (222) at HP research) and it is pretty quiet. I have never had it tested but it is alot quieter than a open system.
