Got stuck in the mud tonight in 2 wheel drive---clicked it into 4 wheel and rocked it back and forth for a few times and still would not go into 4 wheel drive---Got pissed and hammered it---It banged so hard that I thought for sure I broke something---I am sure if there was more power that I would've probably snapped something. This really sucks---how do you 650/700 guys do it without breaking something??? My good bud with the polaris 500 slipped his into 4 wheel drive and instantly (and quietly) came right out of the mud. Think i,m gonna buy a Polaris and put Kawi stickers on it so that I can be cool and quit getting stuckLOL

Hey Ole man, If you disconnect the KEBC, it goes into 4wd instantly, for some reason. Maybe you could put a disconnect in there, so you can slip it in 4wd, when you get stuck. By the way, I have done the same thing with my P650, and it didn't break anything.

LOL, you take it easy until it kicks in or you engage 4x4 before you need it. When you in a situation where you get stuck in 2 wd you put it in four and back up until it engages. I also spinned my front tires with my foot; if you do that you have to pull your foot away fast when it engages. Sometimes the dash will also stay in 2wd but you are in 4. I never hammer mine unless I know it's fully engaged.

OK CFWELD
Point well made---this weekend I yank the KEBC out---I think i can trade the kebc for a more reliable 4 wheel---can you tee me up again on the proper kbec disconnect??? Do I pull the fork off??

Hey Lowes---Hows the carb mods??? Why dont you post some pics with the new tires??? I will be replacing the Dunflops before the first snowflakes this winter

I meant temporary disconnect, unplug it from the right side cover.

Kawasakis just don't play that silly game as well because they don't shift stopped. So, I don't play that game, I always shift mine into 4x4 before I get to a difficult spot.

I got sick of people trying to play "looky here I made it in 2x4". I just say I always shift to 4x4 whether I need it or not.
