i looked thru dirtwheels and they had a article on sidewinder offering a 520 combo that is light weight has anyone tried this set-up, the chain was plenty strong seems it said 14,500 or 16,500, but i know the 530 chains seems to be in the 10,500 range. mainly wondering how the sprockets hold up.

 

It's Dirtwheels. They were probably paid for the article and everything in it is written by the manufacturer.

oh i hear you on the mags. and i'm not a big sidewinder fan after my ti chain they ship was regular chain and then they charged me shipping for there screw up, but when there the only choice, i guess they get second looks. hey did you run you 760 on the 45 at all or did you switch to duals at the same time as the 760?

First do side winder make 530 sprockets for the and do they last as well as advertised?

And is the weight saving worth the piece of mind the 530 chain gives as i would imagine rotax casings aint cheap, and does any one know what the saving actualy is?

there was a couple pounds difference, the strength wouldn't be a issue.

 

Do the sprockets last well, As i ride sand i tend to chew up sprockets fast the stocker that comes on the ds seems to be lasting ok but i would easily pay more for the side winder if they are as good as the ads would have us believe

 

chain tension has a lot to do with how long the sprocket lasts. check out sprocket specialist they have a nice sprocket and the weight is the best i've found. there like 65 dollars.

do those alloy sprockets work ok for you i have found the ones i have tried in the past dont last as long as steal?

I could only find alloy listed for the rear of the ds but i could have been missing somthing

 

As far as I know, no one but Bombardier makes steel rear sprockets for the DS - at least this is what I recall hearing.

 

no but i'm more concerned about other things mainly weight and the gearing i want.
