BeastMan; I weigh 260 lbs and my 2001 AC 250 2X4 has no problem trucking my old rearend around. In fact it will haul me and the wife with some careful use of the shifter and throttle. Been as high as 6400 feet with it jetted for sea level and it still moved the both of us just fine. Didn't idle for crap and was sluggish off idle, but once got into the middle range she took us to the top of the mountain just fine. We just got back from a ride over the Canyon River Pass to the Wynoochee Lake and River. That pass, actually 2 of them are 4200 ft and 4800 ft and the old 250 ran fine, no trouble getting over anything. As to trail riding, when I go with the boys, there has been just about everything from 250's up to 700's and I went where they did just fine on trails (we don't have much in the way of major mud holes out here, just lots of real water). On straight roads (few and far between out here) they can get away from me but when the bendy stuff shows up I catch right up. The 250 will move him just fine if he isn't after 50+ mph. BTW got 46.7 mph with 2 up on a slight down grade today on the GPS.
