My DS tried to kill me again!
#1
I went to an event put on by Florida Trail Riders (FTR) yesterday. Awesome time. They were trying new timing equipment and had a "Fun Run." My friends and I went. They had a 1 hour, quads only, go as fast as you dare hare scramble. Of course I wanted to be first. So after 2 laps, there I was. Mind you, more than half of who is there for regular season races were not there. So I figured I had a chance! I ran in the C class. The course was 5 miles long. After I finally pass the last rider to put me in the lead, I get about 3 sec between us and come to some whoop-de-doo type of area and I was in 3rd gear trying to giver' all I had. The rear was bouncing from side to side but going forward. I let off the throttle for a SPLIT second and my rear seemed to want to be in the front and that caused me to flip. I ejected at the last moment and the second and third place riders stopped to help. I thought I was hurt and my adrenaline was covering it up. But no. Thank goodness! I got going and passed them again.
Just another notch in my DSs' belt. So far it's 0-3 ! I think she's trying to hurt me!
Anyone have a TRX 90 for sale?

Rats, we just traded in our TRX90 on a Grizzly 125 yesterday, for my youngest son. You should of spoke up sooner .
Sounds like you had a good time though. Those whoops can be tricky, LOL.

mudnuri,
It sounds as if you have the power to do what you need, but perhaps taking the time to dial in the stock suspenion, or even buy some high dollar (or mid / low if that is your budget) aftermarket shocks would be a really good idea. The first thing you should do is get the rear shock rebuilt by TCS or PeP or some other good company and then work on something good for the front as well! With the right suspension you should be able to take whoops even faster.

Like all women you need to spend money on them so they will be nice to you. My girl tried to kill me three times the last time I raced. A trip to the day spa and 2000.00 dollars later she has a new attitude.

BigDogAZ,
That sounds about right... Too bad I've got soo many women to take care of! (Everyone should have that problem, right?) Though I think AZSand has three? Or did he get rid of one? Oh but then he has one of those other 'exotic' types of women as well.

Big Dog, you are too funny.
You hit it right on the head. I need to put some money in to her.
Right now I have a lot of needs. Like a hot tub. I needs to heal !
I am goin to be 38 in Nov. I can't seem to realize this though. My mind does not think of myself any older than 20? 22? That usually leads to trouble.
I am starting a list of wants for my DS:
Kill switch $30-60
Armor $ 200-300
Shocks $ 1600- ?
Something to wake it up on the bottom end but not make it louder $ 100- ??
Tires $ 300
Heel guards $170
At least a couple of thousand dollars.
I will be chipping away on the list!
The first $20 goes to this site. I am going to show my thanks by contributing!
All of this info is invaluable.
Blackhawk, you think reworking the original is okay to do? Or would it be worth it to save for the aftermarket shock? If it's okay, about how long of a turn-a-round do these companies usually have?

I've been told a 're-worked' factory rear shock will be as good as a shock from whomever you have rebuild it - assuming they were using the same shaft size etc. so yeah, according to what I've been told it is. That will save you big bucks on the suspension side of it. No idea on turn around, the busy season in So Cal is winter & that is when everyone else is slow so I'm not sure if they have a slow time of year in that industry, but I would call around & talk to some builders.
As far as your list - it looks like a good one, similar to mine. I'd start with the cheaper stuff and you'll at least have more items completed by number that way!
