a 300ex is probably the best bet, next in line I think is probably the Polaris trailblazer 250(can be made to work if you put time into it, and lighten it up). Something like that would be nice for you. A new Polaris phoenix 200 would be nice too. Your best bet is the Honda 300ex though. A good bike for begineers, from what I've been told.

250r will win every time but its not the best quad for a beginner if you are experianced with a 2 stroke get the 250r u cant go wrong with it.

What type of racing will you be doing? How much experience do you have with atvs? These are important questions that need to be answered before making recommendations. You say your a rookie but is that just at racing or riding as well?

The blaster also fits nicely into this class. The 250 or 300EX is probably better right out of the box but are hard to improve on.The blaster can be heavily modified and made very fast.In our racing series we have a junior intermediate class and its all blasters with one 300EX.

You cant have a 250r. The biggest 2-stroke you can have is a 200. Like the blaster. The ones you can race are:
300ex
blaster
250ex
mojave
z250

I agree though, either the blaster depending on how much money you have, or a 300ex if you have more money.
