Default Snorkle tube collapse?

I think my snorkle tube may be collapsing while running the hill under a load, and then when I hit the nos I think it is promotes collapsing. I have about 5-6 heavy duty hose clamps to re-enforce, but it does not keep the tube from collapse.

Question is, has anyone tried to put some type of rubber cement between the hose clamp and the snorkle tube to hold the tube in place??? When the tube is under pressure it would seem to hold the snorkle in a round position if fixed to the clamps, instead of not being attached to the clamp... What kind of glue/rubber cement would you all recomend to adhere to the metal clamp and the rubber tube? Thanks

Why not try some small screws and then seal that with any type of adhesive

What year is your snorkel tube? When I compared my 2002 tube with Blackhawk's 2003 tube, the 2003 tube was much more rigid and has additional ribs.

Thanks for the input atvaddict.

Sandaholic, I have the up-graded rigid snorkle..

I think some type of adhesive might work, but still dont know what to use till I go look around and hear more info.

Rubber cement it is (thanks), I will try asap...

sandman- if you think your running rich, try this before leaning out gas jet on nos system just to be safe.

I think my snorkle tube was collapsing @ sand mt Ut. at the very top of the hill, I was losing power with the exact same symptoms.

its the tube between the carb and the airbox, take a peek at my pics, I got one w/ my TM45 and it shows the snorkle clamped to the carb

I cant see why no one hasnt came up w/ a aftermarket snorkle. make a mold w/ the orginal and then use that to put a sutiable materal around it.
Idea?? what about wraping it in fiberglass? cant get no firmer than that like a cast or something

I have the 04 model which aparantly doesnt collapse as much

But if you can find it and fit it properly it might be woth trying a spring inside the tube i have done this for other aplications in the past,(not on the ds)
If u can get a good fit it will definatly not collapse , but it may cause some air velocity drop due to turbulance
