Default 200Z400 Oil Changing Question

Hi guys,

I have a question about oil changing. I have searched and had no luck. I know you have the answers, so please help.

First of all, I am going to unbolt the oil drain plug from underneath the bike. It seems like there is two plugs. One underneath the engine area, and another underneath where the front is at. Do you understand what i'm trying to explain? Its on the tank by where the dip stick is at.

Which one should I take out to drain the oil?? Both? or just the one under the engine?

Its a stupid question, but I am a beginner.

Thanks in advance!

take out both drain plugs every time you change the oil. the one in the front is the oil reservior and the one in the rear is the engine block plug. Be carefull putting the plugs back in and don't overtighten them??

change the oil filter and slowly add new oil to the resevior using a clean long style funnel. Add 2100ml of oil (alittle more than two QTS) don't overfill and check the level without screwing the dipstick in! good luck and rember to grease the rear suspension linkage

there are a couple grease fittings on the rear suspension linkage. tip the bike up on the rear bar and you'll get to 'em easier. just use a good chasi grease or what ever you have in the grease gun, give them a pump or two each fitting and wipe of any excess grease so it doesn't attract dirt. good luck and also what type of oil are you using?

cool thanks. I'll go to a local bike shop and ask the guy where I can get the grease. As for the oil, I am at work right now, and forgot what kind. But the bike shop sold me one , (from what I can remember), its for 4 stroke atv's. Its 10/30. Is there a certain brand I should use???

Really, thanks for the help guys. I am fairly new to this and am learning a lot from you guys.

I use a full synthetic after the bike is broke in but youll be fine with what you have, but doesn't the manual call for a 10/40?
