95 Warrior oil/gas ratio??????
#1
I thought you didn't have to mix oil with the gas on a four stroke. I'm looking at a manual that is telling me to mix it 20:1. This is my first four stroke. I love the sound of a two stroke but now have rode the warrior and felt the power it produces. It's awsome!!!!! Do I use 2-cycle oil in my four stroke???? How many ounces of oil should be mixed with a gallon to make 20:1?
Thanks

No,
that shouldnt be accurate. I mix oil with a fourstroker ONCE IN AWHILE...... but not much my dirtbike...2-stroke moto-x takes a 32:1 ratio there-fore a 20:1 would mean more oil which isnt true.... i personaly wouldnt use oil, and would check my sources again, as warriors are 4-strokes and dont need oil, t hats the whole point of a 4-2stroke, one has WAY more RPM's, than the other which would call for oil, and i'll tell you, a warrior doesnt come close to the RPM's needed for oil.
my 2 cents.

Thanks for the info. I'm about to take a night blast down the dirt road. With gas only. It was running 65mph with some oil in it!!! It has been backfireing when I let off. Is this normal?? It has the stock pipe but I think the previous owner removed something. There is a bolt hole at the end of it but nothing to hold in. It was in pieces when I bought it. I have installed a new piston 20 over.
Thanks again

2-stroke engines lubricate the crank bearings with the oil in the fuel when piston is on up stroke. 4-stroke engines have a sealed area in lower block for oil to be pumped or splashed on/in bearings as lube. oil in gas only will lube the valves and guides. sometimes gooey the plug if too much

The bolt in the back bottom end of the muffler helps to hold in the baffle/spark arrestor, if the previous owner took it out, you'd know it, it would be pretty loud. I would get that oil/gas mix out of the tank pretty soon, you will just fould out the plug,no four stroke is made to run on a premix. The backfiring when you let off could be a lean idle mixture, under the carb, near the intake, you will see a screw coming out of the bottom, this is the idle mixture. Open it up a 1/4 turn at a time until the backfiring stops. If you can't get it to stop after going out more than 3 turns, you may need to clean the carb, or put in a larger size pilot jet.

All right... So the manual I was reading only goes up to 1992. Lesson learned. I was looking at the YFM350X. What model would the 95 be for future specs???
