need help with banshee
#1
hey guys I have a question and need an honest answer. my wifes uncle has a 89' banshee which he says needs a crank, the body is in great shape. does this sound like it would be worth $1200? would it be cheaper to find a newer banshee engine and do a swap or to tear the original engine down and rebuild it? please help.

Unless you can do all the work....it is going to be a costly engine rebuild....as you know, the engine is going to have to be split...all new gaskets, bearings, clean up...hopefull no damage from burnt bearings..atc. I would be careful with that. It's your money.
But I belive the older banshee has j-arms.... I would check into either a new engine or another bike.

That sounds like a decent price. I would rebuild the motor. If you can buy and rebuild it for $3,000 total you will do good. Buy a Clymer manuel and get to work!
Oh, j-arms are on the 1987 shee.
