Default 2004 scrambler problem/question

I striped down my scrammy to clean it and when I removed my air box, I noticed the hose from the airbox to the oil box had an inch long slice in it about 5 inches from the oil box side. There was white marker marking it. I am the only owner. Is this supposed to be there or was this done by some one at the dealership?

My second question is about my frame. I was trail ridding and caught a tree, going about 10 mph, 2 months ago. I just noticed the a arm on that side is farther back than the other one. I stood my quad up on the back bar to see under it and it looks like my whole right side it pushed in and back! I kept thinking how can the frame be like that when I was going slow(10mph). When looking at it I also noticed there is not much holding on the front a arms. I No longer plan on jumping this thing at all, because the front seems like it could easily snap right where the a arm is connected. Is there anything a dealer could do to fix it, or do I need to take it to a custom shop to get the frame fixed?

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

its hard to believe your frame is bent..my buddie slammed his into a huge rock at about 35mph and his isnt bent, the bumper was folded over flat but thats it..ive slammed mine off a few trees, bent a couple a-arms but never the frame..you sure it isnt just the a-arm bent?

If you look under the frame, facing front, the left side of the frame goes almost strait, but the right side has a huge curve over to the front. This is the side i hit. I hit the front right tire. It looks like if I hit the left it would not bend, but the right side of the frame is shaped differently. The spot where it goes in, just before the a arm is where it bent in, and up.

keep in mind that scrambler frames are not identical from side to side like most bikes are the right sight is supposed to have some curvature to it.

You have me baffled on the frame part. Might be worth taking it into the dealer and have them take a looksi at it. As for the hose with the slit, it is suppose to be there. That is how you prime the oil pump when you remove the oil screen. You pinch that line

Well Im glad the hose is supposed to be like that. That solves one of my problems. The bent frame, shifts the right tire back about 1-2 inches from the left. I checked it over close, and it looks like it should be fine to ride. Just have to make sure I don't hit anything on that side again.

I hit a tree with my 02 scammy. The left a-arm's front tube is pushed in a little.. Will any of the front-end aftermarket add-on products protect this stuff? They all seem to be too narrow and close to the radiator to take the tree abuse to the stuff out by the front wheels.

Just put a new set of Bear Claw tires up front. Can't wait to try them out this weekend. They were a real character builder to get seated on the stock wheels.
