serious mud draggin'
#1
anyone benn mud draggin' with an AC 650 yet? I am thinking about running both of my quads at an event coming up soon. But before I do, I want to do a tire swap on the Big Cat. I was wondering what tires yall thought would work great in deep thick mud. I have 26" 589's on my rincon, it seems to go ok. But with more ground clearance and a front diff lock. I know the AC will smoke it through the drag. Do you think I can fit 28" tires on the AC with a stock suspension? Would I need offset rims or wheel spacers? This is my first cat after three hondas(still have the rincon for the wife). I absolutely love the AC, the power is unbelievable!

hey west well i got 27 inch 589's on my cat and they work awesome but you have to be careful for mine has so much power that if i am in the bottom of a mud pit and crack it down it will come launching out of the mud hole and jump about 4 feet into the next one i personally wish i would have went with 28's and yes they will bolt right up without any mods must make sure you take the small shim out of the secondary clutch and put a black spring in to tighten the belt up and if i had to do it over again i would probably get mudzilla's or something along them lines but nothing can touch me in the mud with the 27 inch 589's even sportsmans with 28's but i also have the dynatek cdi which gave me alot more low end power and got rid of the dreaded limp mode so 27's on a stock 650 might be just right

Hey thank you for the help weez. how well does that dynatec cdi work? will i really notice a difference? if it does i think i will have to get one a go with the 28's!
I am from around mon city i usually ride the pipelines and few trails with the mudpits here. Then i know a few guys from around washington there is a whole lotta places to ride out that way. and i never miss rumble on the ridge!

Hey westpamudder, I just bought Highlifter mod from Weez 440 and man am I a believer!!!These guys on the boards almost made these things sound too good to be true,If you've got the money get the dynatek cdi and the black spring like weez says and it'll fix your limp mode and make it seem like a different machine.Good luck with your decision

hey west well the dynatek cdi it really improves low end about the same as the Highlifter module in about 130 to 150 yards i went from 48 to 51 or 52 mph and it works very very sexy both of them but specially the dynatek cdi I believe it is the same as the kawasaki prarie 650 i think the 2002 i think the part number ended in 13 but when i placed my order in it had a section for comments and i said that it is for the arctic cat so they got it right never seen the vampire tires in action but they do look sexy good luck with creating your monster
