just bought my new trail tech computer for my ride.

i guess im a little worried about drilling the hole for the sensor down on the strut housing. reason is, it calls for you to drill and screw into the fin right where the 4WD wire is factory sealed on the other side.

im sure people do this all the time, but i am just a little leary about hitting anything vital on the other side of that fin,,,,,should i be?

oh, also, what number do i program in for the calibration of the front tire size? (23 inch tires, just need the mm number)

please help either way.

Ask BBS what # to use. He helped me out with it. Or just do the math as it is outlined in the instructions. As far as the drilling goes.......don't sweat it. Just take your time and use a sharp bit, that stuff drills really easily. You're only drilling thru the fin so don't worry about the 4wd.

 

You need to actually measure your tire diameter in mm or inches and convert to mm .. easiest way is the rolling method as outlined in the instructions with the speedo.

Then you need to calculate the circumference of the tire. If the tire was a true 23", then:

23" x 25.4mm/" = 584.2mm, circ. = 2Pi x R, or Pi x d. Since we know d, then the circumference becomes:

Circ=3.14159 x 584.2 = 1835mm which is the number you input into your trailtech when programming it. Chances are good though that your tire is not actually 23" though due to wear and manufacturing tolerances .. 23 is just a nomninal size.

 

ya stick with 1835 cuz i had my programmed to 14 sometin like bbs told me and i was keeping up wit our 400 scrammy wit a filtercharger and that dont do 52 on the street!!!!! wen i changed to 1835 the speed became more realistic
