I have a 04.5 500 HO and the crank seal has gone bad for the second time. It has 1100 miles on it. I took it to the dealer to get fixed. I still have 3 weeks left on the warranty. Does anyone know why the seal would do this? Has anyone had this problem.. I don't abuse it atr all. I'm thinking about trading it for a 04.5 700 efi Sportsman. I rode it today and man talking about response. It was very peppy!! It did seem to clunk a lot though. Going down a hill, I let off the throttle and it made clunking noises going down the hill in a field. Any problems with the 700 efi? All info will be most appreciated.

 

This is the first post I've read of a crank seal going on a HO. I have 3000kms on my 500 HO with no seal problems. The 700 EFI would be nice, as long as you can live with the drive line clunk.....
