My buddy and I are heading up to Silver Lake in Michigan on the Friday before Labor day..I have a 2000 DS and my buddy has a 04 blue YFZ. Anyone going and my question is..In order for us to ride on Saturday, will we need to get our vouchers on Friday night. We won't be getting into the dune area until around 12 midnight at the earliest..can we get vouchers that late or is there any other way we can get them?

I dont know what time they close,but if you have a friend up already have them get you one.
One guy this weekend was in line, on the road for three hours to park and that is an off weekend

I believe the voucher center is only open till 10 or 11 on friday night but it reopens sat morning at 7 but you better be in line before that if you want to get in as soon as the dunes open.

 

wait I think it was changed this year... on friday night they are handing out 200 vouchers on friday night..... you can get one voucher for every legal driver in the vehicle going thru the voucher line.... so if you can find a couple people that are going to be there friday night in the voucher line they can get you one.

 

I was there this past weekend and the place was full of people. If you need to park your vehicle with a trailer, you need a parking lot voucher. They hand them out Friday night (9 - 11pm) for parking times from 7 - 8am and 8 - 9am. I'm not sure about them handing them out on Saturday morning (as mentioned by someone earlier in this thread). If you can get the machines in without a trailer (called dune ready), you can get vouchers which cover this for 7 - 9, 9 - 11, 11 - 1, 1 - 3 and 3 - 5. Guys traveling usually drive their truck with trailer and need to drop in the parking lot, meaning you'll need a parking lot voucher.

When I picked up my parking lot voucher, I could only get one for my vehicle. You can pickup two "dune ready" vouchers.
