Silver Lake Break down on aug 19th
#1
Well I had my 04 DS on the sand for the 1st time.
Took 5 hrs to get there. The place is Awesome compared to where I have access to here in Ohio.
Got my new Hauler paddles on, my new HMF slip on exhaust, and My Procom CDI. I was ready for a couple days of playing in the sand!
Well after about 4 Hrs of riding, and kind of getting a feel for the place, another DS X pulls up and informs me Doctor_Dom and 01DS650 that they are drag racing down near the beach.
So of course we got to go try our stuff. I pull right up to the line, next to 2 other moded up quads and a dirty bike, I rev her up a little to around 3 grand, and she dies right there on the line! I was shocked! I tried to re-start her like nothing had happened and all she did was crank and crank and crank, so I gave her a break thinking maybe she's just a little hot. I waited a couple of minutes tried again and still the same thing, finally the battery gave up the ship.
I’m thinking that fu(king Procom CDI, they told me they were junk and not to get it!
Doctor_Dom, lent me his DS to ride back to the truck and grab some tools, plugs and my stock CDI.
I put on the stock CDI and change the plugs and doctor Dom pulls me to get her started, but still she just won’t run.....
Doctor Dom pulls me back to the truck and I get to checking her out a little better and discover no spark..... at all!
So my Ridding time just ended.
I dropped the DS off at the shop In Zulu IN on the way home and they let me know today that I sheared off a flywheel key and they were going to have to order it, and hopefully they will have me back running by the weekend.
They said they didn’t have a clue what caused it, that it just happens but very rarely.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I guess ill put my Procom CDI back on (I shouldn’t have been so quick to blame procom for my troubles!)
