First ride...new BRUTE FORCE!!!!
#1
Just picked up the new Brute Force today and had a chance to take it out on some local trails. This is a nice riding quad. Right off the bat I was pleased with it's stability and feel. We hit some semi-rough terrain and this thing just eats it up with no sweat. Being new, I was not able to get on it too hard but rest assured... the power is definitely there and once it's properly broken in I'll get a chance to release all that grunt.
As for cornering, the machine does take some getting used to. This is my first quad in years and I hadnt ridden in a while. The IRS is different feeling than an SRA quad. I felt I had to use my body more to make turns more smooth, but once I got the hang of that everything felt great. No, it will not powerslide like a sport bike and if thats your "thing" you may want to consider something else. However, for overall ride quality and rough terrain capability, this thing has to be hard to beat. The belt system on mine runs fairly queitly and the whole thing feels tight and solid. It does build confidence when you jhave a machine that feels so stable and ready to tackle whatever you throw at it.
The IRS works great, IMO. We hit a series of pretty deep "woopty-doos" and I didnt even have to stand up. It just absorbed everything in stride and maintained stability. Of course,I need more time on it to really get a good review but I thought why not post my initial findings so those considering a BF have some feedback.
Here's a summary:
MODEL: 2005 Kawasaki Briute Force, Hunter green
PRICE PAID: $7000 + tax
PROS:
- Super nice ride.
- Stability and "beefiness" makes for a trustworthy partner in rough terrain.
- IRS works great so far.
- Engine has GOBS of power just waiting to be unleashed.
CONS:
- Cornering will take some practice, it's NOT a sport quad! You will use your body more for faster turns.
- Fuel injection would be nice
- Powersliding can be done but will take some practice and experimentation.
OVERALL:
- Highly recommended, it's as good as anything else out there as far as big quads go.

Glad you like it, I am getting ready to purhcase a Brute myself. I live in ohio, where did you buy your machine
that sounds like a very good price compared to whats around here. But I dont mind driving alittle while to save some money.
