Default Should I buy a demo model?

I've gotten on the trail of a 2003 Bombardier outlander. I don't know anything about it yet (haven't seen it or anything). A friend of mine knows a sales rep, and he says he's got a demo model that usually sells for 6-7 thousand, he can sell for around 3500. Obviously, I still need to look at it (we'll be calling the sales rep today), but given that it appears to be in pretty good shape, would anyone be hesitant about buying a demo model? Perhaps it's been ridden harder than usual, etc. Just wanted some opinions.

The way I see it, there are some positives and negatives. First, my budget is around 3000. Until my friend told me about this possibility, I was looking at the Suzuki Ozark's. Seem to be about best in class, and in my budget.

For this opportunity, if this model (I'm speculating here, since I haven't seen it) normally sells for 6-7 k then it's got to be much bigger than a 250, and possibly even 4 wd and automatic, which would be a huge improvement of a bike over what I was considering (2wd 250 Ozark).

So, again, assuming that it's a much bigger model for the same price, would anyone here be scared to buy a demo model?

Thanks in advance.

If its never been sold before, it should come with a warentee. Check on that...I believe it should be a two year.
Not many of them sold for that much, unless you mean canadian money. If its a 4x4 400, then its definetly worth the price, if its a 330 2x4, then youve got to ride it and decide for yourself. The resale on the 2x4 isnt very strong, they need to be discounted pretty heavy to sell a used one. Something to think about, for when you eventually sell it.
The motors and trannys are pretty good on them, and they ride really smooth. It should provide many years and miles of fun.
Im trying to sell an ozark, an 03, and I havent even had a call yet. Its just like new, but because its 2wd, it tough to find a buyer. Everyone wants 4wd.

Find out just what "demo model" entails when you look at it. Most dealerships really don't let people rip on the showroom quads, but you never know. (Might be a really cool dealer) I would expect it to come with the full new warranty. If it is the either the 400 or 330, they are both considerably more capable than the Ozark and would be worth a few cosmetic blemishes IMHO.
