EFI questions

So am I understanding this right, the current EFI's on the Polaris and the upcoming Suzuki do not have pull starts. So if you are in the middle of nowwhere and the battery goes kaput your SOL? Aren't their snowmobiles with pull start and fuel injection, like they have some sort of limp mode if the battery is shot so you can make it home. I was at the Kawi dealer a few weeks ago wanting to have a look at the BF (no luck though they have sold them as fast as they come in) and the guy was telling me this about the EFI systems. I was coming off of a night shift and had already gone wheelin after work so I was getting deliriously tired so maybe I understood him wrong. I kind of like being able to get into my carbs and get it runnin the way I want, especially after doing mods and what not.

I think you can push start a KQ with that clutch system they have.
I have never needed my pull start.
My bro needed his pull start but his batt connections were loose, so he really shouldn't have needed it if he was better about maintenance.

It probably dont have a pull start because if the battery is dead the injectors and fuel pump wont have power either. Im not aware of the atv setup, but the EFI is great for modding. It will most likely have an o2 sensor that will read when its running lean (more air) and send a longer pulse to the injectors, It probably wont be as advanced as the Vette I spend countless hours working on, but the new mods will be along the lines of : mass air, throttle bodies, computer mapping programs (eprom), injectors, plenum and runner porting, TPS (throttle position sensor) voltage adjustments, and a ton of other tricks. The advantages are, more efficient air fuel ratios at all ends of the spectrum= (faster, smoother, with better fuel economy) and take the guesswork out of trying to tune. The disadvantage will be.. mods will be much more expensive!! when tuning just remember "LEAN IS MEAN.. till detonation... detonation bad
