Default New Dyna CDI installed Lean or rich?

Guys,

I installed the Dyna CDI a few days ago and got a chance to go on my first serious ride last night. Overall I am very pleased with the CDI. I waited until 2 weeks ago to order it so that they could get all of the origional kinks ironed out. I have absolutely no "kickback" when starting hot or cold. My question is that when I let off of the gas rapidly or I am braking heavily, I get a lot of backfiring from my exhaust. Would this indicate a rich or lean condition?

ED
