i just recently added a stp700 to my stable and am totaly happy with it but for 1 thing,,,,the stock tires are crap....1st day out i had to plug 2 tires and the rears are damn near half worn out at 20 hours of hard riding....i ride ALOT of EVERYTHING.....mud hard pack trails...playing in fields...rocky hillclimbs.....steep culvert crossings....stream beds...pretty much everything but dunes and i want a good capable set of tires....i am also going to buy a set of mud tires as well.. but what would be a good all around tire for me? i like sliding around...but not dirt devil sliding around if you know what i mean......i was thinking bighorns...or maybe badlands or itp's...but im not to sure lemme know what you think....also i am going to pick up some wheels when i get the new tires...what would be good....i have my own thoughts on all this but i like hearing what others have to say..

dont wanna sound like im slamming you but the Dirt devils are a waste of money..all show and no go..that V tread design wears out in less than 500 miles and leaves you with a tire that just wont hook up...not a slam just a fact from observation of another riders tires...he wishes he never got them...pure uncontrolable spin...his 650 should be able to beat mine but cant because those shoes dont get traction well..I hook up and he dont... like I said im not slamming you m8..just a fact from watching another riders tires.. i do have to say tho that after running my Bearclaws then switching to Bighorns..I love the ride and traction of the 'horns, very smooth and excellent traction...sorry if i offend =)

I don't wanna slam anyone either And I never mean to, But been there and plugged a few dirt devils and other bias ply as well. If I was going to go with a GBC, There Gator's are near bullet proof, But they are more of a Mud Tire. Some of the lighter softer Radial Carlisle/ITP tires are good, but don't really offer the unquestionable durability like the Maxxis Radial Big Horns.
IMO-If you ride rough conditions there is not a better tire then the Radial Big Horns. But they are a fine all around as well. The main reason I hear some don't like the tire is because of weight? All those most who say this I believe have never try it? Because I haven't talked to anyone that has ridden this tire that doesn't think its one of the best, If not the best they have owned. I rode the lighter bias ply big horns on an even lighter then my beadlock rims just this past Saturday and the difference was noticeable because I dropped almost 8lbs per wheel, But when compared to total durability and all around riding in mix conditions its not that much different. If anything there is less high speed bounce with the radial horns. One of the main reasons for the few pounds of extra tire weight is because of construction, Harder rubber compounds and the radial belt goes from bead to bead unlike all others where the belt only goes shoulder to shoulder. Shoulder to shoulder will offer a smoother ride those. But Because of the bead to bead construction there is incredible side wall protection. Ive got chunks taken out of a few of my side walls that if they where ANY other tire they would be trash! I also believe just about any of the radials offer a smoother ride over a bias ply, And we will be seeing a LOT of New radials coming out in the next few years even for Sport Quads. I think you should give the Horns a try you wont be sorry. ~coop

yeah but where is the best place to buy the bighorns......
How is the ride quality, arent they are real stiff tire????
They look like hte Peaks will just spin and spin and spin with them????? Will i really get some traction?????
How do they work in the mud???? Are they even decent, i have no real basis for comparison other then a Kenda Bearclaw?

How about wheels......
Are the ITP's heavy.
Are there any weights on these other then 7.5lbs for the CSeries Type 5's....are the new Type6's lighter????
They look like they have alot of spacing in between, is this a bad thing for sticks and $hit to get caught up in?
Anything about Delta Series, DeltaX vs Deltas....
Weight/Strength???????
Just a few more things to conisder!
I know Douglas makes wheels that are Lighter then ITP's but i guess ALL WEHEELS tend to be heavier then stock how can this be?

If your gonna do any kind of muddin at all then get Mudbugs. The Bighorns do better than stock but not very well compared to bugs.
best place to get Bighorns would be PenlandBrothersRacing (PBR) do a search for there phone number.
The Delta series of ITP wheels are heavier than stock wheels but are stronger. The only difference between delta and deltaX is the fake beadlock on the deltaX. The X's are heavier.
Aluminium wheels are stronger and lighter than steels but are much more expensive.
stock aluminum wheels tend to be .160 thick(or lighter)......the aftermarket aluminiums are .190 or cast aluminium which makes them much stronger and a bit heavier

Why would u say to stay away from ITP Tires..
They are a well made tire, I know what i am talking about here, and know people that use them!
The Mudlights are GREAT! I am actually sold on those but am just curious about all this BigHorn talk!
Have u had a bad experience or something????
How bad is the extra weight of delta X's going to affect the Peaks, will the CDI Make up for it, or would i just be better to steer clear of the delta series period!
