Default Considering new ATV

I currently own a Suzuki Eiger 4x4, which I love. But I was wondering about some of these new fuel injected 700's coming out, or that have come out (i.e. Kawasaki Brute Force, Suzuki Kingquad, Polaris Sportsman 700). I think I would like to go to IRS and go bigger, but would a 700 be too big and heavy? Now that I have some experience, I think I could handle one. Any opinions about the new 700'ish's would be great.

first of all, the kawi Brute Force isn't fuel injected, but it is the most powerful. I think if you've had some experience you wouldn't have any trouble handling one of these new big bores, they're pretty predictable. All the the machines you listed are very nice machines, it's just a matter of preference. the Kawi and Polaris are Twins, the Suzuki is a single, the Suzuki and Polaris are fuel injected, the Kawi is carb, they all have IRS, which is awesome. once you ride an IRS machine you'll be sold on it. IMO if you want raw power, get the Brute, if you want a very nice ride on a somewhat larger (heavier) machine, get the Polaris. Our sportsman is awesome. The Suzuki is not out yet, but it looks like it's gonna be an awesome machine too. I think whichever you pick, it'll be a good choice.

Also Polaris has a new 800EFI Sportsman you may want to look at too. It's got power, EFI, IRS, and dual exahust which is awsome!

What about the lack of a pull start on the Polaris? Would this be a problem? I've never had to use it currently, but am glad its there. Does this mean if I was to get the Sportsman I should carry a jumper pack as well?

I BELEIVE THE POLARIS 800 IS CONSTANT 4X4 AS WELL WHICH I KNOW IS NOT FAVORED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE. I THINK THE SUZUKI IS GOING TO BE THE ONE TO GET OUT OF THE BIG BORES. I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO TRY ONE MYSELF.

what do you mean by constant 4x4, the new 800 has the same on demand system as all polaris. i don't look as lack of pull start being a problem. the suzuki does look like it's gonna be a nice machine, it's all about personal preference.

These are the 800 EFI features taken off the polaris website. Please read point #3 "Exclusive On-Demand All-Wheel Drive" Now I may just a Yamaha guy and do not know much about Polaris, but that sounds like constant 4x4 to me? You may beable to lock the front in but it will always send power to the front just like my Wolverine or some Hondas.

not trying to sound like a jerk! i could really be wrong since iI do not keep up on Polaris. I thought I read the all wheel drive thing somewhere?

Sportsman 800 Twin EFI features

NEW Powerful, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder Polaris LibertyTM 800 engine with EFI.

Independent long-travel rear suspension with 9.5 in/24.1 cm of travel and 11.25 in/28.6 cm of ground clearance.

Exclusive On-Demand All-Wheel Drive.

NEW Front rack with built-in, sealed storage box.

NEW Long-travel MacPherson strut front suspension with increased travel: 8.2 in/20.8 cm.

NEW Rear rack extender standard.

NEW Polaris PXT Radial tires (Polaris Xtreme Tires) on heavy-duty steel rims.

NEW Brighter headlights, dual brake lights and rear work lights.

NEW Large easy-access rear tool box.

NEW Receiver hitch for easy towing.

NEW Dual-exhaust system.

Nope, that's the same exclusive on demand all wheel drive that an all polaris 4x4 atvs. they call it exclusive because it's a polaris only thing. the machine is in 2 wheen drive until the awd switch is pushed. then the machine stays in 2x4 until it senses the slightest wheel slippage in the rear wheels (and believe me, it doesn't take much, not even a full turn) then the front wheels both kick in for true 4x4.

Fair enough. I am sure it will be a monster, especially in the MUD. It will have to be since it will be no easy task to tow it out.
