the stock 700 vforce is rather soft. It has 50 hp at the crank but the centrifical clutch (10% power loss appr.) and the shaft drive (another 10% power loss) ends up not putting much to the ground and that is especially evident in the hill drags. We brought an 800 vforce (mickey dunlap sleeved kit) to sand mountain and it beat the stock ds's and yfz 450's. The utah bunch drove it and can attest to the changes with the 800 kit. Summary: the stock 700 lacks alot. The 800 kit helps but any bike with the same amount of work will beat it. (those of ya at sand mountain this weekend, it was the kawi orange with the big digitron dash mount pyrometer)

I owned two 2004 V-Forces, and now own a 2005 DS 650. And a V-Force can be improved by leaps and bounds with proper clutching. I spent three days at Sand Mountain (UT) and managed to shave over 11 seconds off of my time up Sand Mountain with just clutching mods. An ATV will cover a lot of ground at the top of the hill in eleven seconds, so clutch mods make more difference than pipes, cams, airbox mods, etc. It also made a huge difference in flat drags, and by the time I was done clutch tuning I had a piped and jetted V-Force with 24" Extremes that I could pin the throttle wide open right at the starting line, and hold it wide open for the entire 300 ft drag race. It would NOT wheelie off the line, but would then lift the front tires 6 inches off the ground at about the 50 foot mark, and keep the front tires 6 inches off the ground at wide open throttle for the entire 300 feet. It was a fast 300 foot drag racer on flat ground, and could beat my piped DS 650 in flat drags with no problem. My DS 650 still beats the V-Force's best time up Sand Mountain though. There is something about the belt drive transmission on the V-Force that is just plain slower than molasses at hillshooting. I improved it with clutching mods, but racing uphill on a V-Force just isn't going to give you a win, unless you are racing a Honda 400EX that doesn't have too many mods. I never could figure out why they are so much faster on flat ground than on hills, but suspect it is something to do with the backshifting of the auto clutch that people have not figured out yet.

It is near 5000$ for the conversion kit. I believe skat trak is the only company who makes one now. Once they bring the price down an extended swing arm will help the light front end alot. I don't think it is worth the $$$.
