2001 sportsman 500 ebs driven clutch shim question

2001 sportsman 500 ebs driven clutch shim question
Do I adjust the belt tension of my Sportsman by using shims in the driven clutch???? I put a new drive clutch on and now the belt is to tight. The belt is spinning all of the time.
