I am low on 2 stroke oil. My nearest Polaris Dealer is about 1 hour-1.5 hours away. My polaris has had only polaris oil in it from day 1. Should I bite the bullet and make the long trek to the dealership, or can I go with a comprable/better 2 stroke oil at an auto store somewhere?

That is all I ever use. My local dealer is about 50 min. away but I like to check out the new stuff he has in stock anyway.

I always use Polaris oil. Not sure if it really matters or not, but I've alway used it. My Sport is a '97 and I haven't touched it. Still stock, never done anything to the motor except change the plug. I don't know if it matters, but I've seen separate oils for oil injected systems. I don't know what the difference is or if there is a difference, just thought I'd throw that in.

I would like to have about four or five of the top brands of oil, mix them with gas at 32:1 in a glass jar and see after a couple weeks which stays mixed and which seperates out

Sounds like we have exactly the same thing Jeff. Mine is a 400L Sport. Bought in 97 the PO had only used pure Polaris oil. Now that I have had it I have fixed a lot of abused stuff. Now that I am on top of it. I think I will pipe it and clutch it next.

Thanks guys for the information

Surely you could buy some off the polaris website, or ebay or something, and just have it shipped to you.....probably cheaper....I used the stuff for years too....I used the gold though(can't switch between the two).
