New chain for ds from sidewinder
#1
Hi guys, I have no idea if this is new or old info, so if its old or useless, ignore it. I am reading the classifieds in dirtwheels, and it ds650 bomb conversion kit. It goes on to explain about a killer hi performance drive system upgrade is now available from sidewinder sprockets. It says save alomst 3lbs of mass, improve rev build up by 18%, and deliever 4.5 more hp to the rear wheels. Kit consists of titanium chromoly sprockets, and 16000lb titanium chain, and has a lifetime gaurentee against breakage.
I don't know if this is anything, or something.....but it might be worth checking out, I just thought I would pass the word.

conversion to what? 520 instead of 530 maybe? I am going to have to email them. I just have some reservations about sidewinder because of some of the storys I have read on here about receiving different kinds of metal when ordering titanium.

make sure you are very clear with them what you want, several have ordered the ti chain to get a regular one. plus to short, then they have a standard answer of oh the wrong one got sent and oh those guys in shipping.

there is no such thing as Ti chain - the sidewinder guy told me on the phone the plates are regular steel nickel plated and the pins and roller are Ti/chromoly alloy. I find this all bogus because my supposed Ti chain is only a few months old and already looks crappier than any chain I've ever owned. the nickel is coming off the plates and they are rusting. and the pins and rollers are turning orange. and I take as good a care of it as possible, same postride care I've always given a chain.
sidewinder will never again get my money.
