Hey, is there a chance for new quads to arrive, isn't there 2 days of the show left. I am happy and mad about the 400ex, I like the fact that they upgraded it with reverse, but the price and plastic is ridiculous. I have been loyal to Honda for years, but if something doesn't happen soon I am about to jump ship.
Any info would be greatly appreciated,

You guys need to hold your skivies, nobody has even thrown a leg over this new TRX400. The reverse has been something we all have been complaining about, and the new gearing ratio could have added to the top end, which would give it more speed to compete with the others in the 400 class.

IMO, I dont think true riders give a hoot about top end, It is acceleration what most of us want, and why do you have to throw a leg over one, it isn't like it is going to ride different, Im sure everyone is knows what it feels like to back up. And a gearing change is not going to make it much more powerful.

Get back to me with a educated response after you take differential equation II and we can talk gearing. Top end is next to useless for me too, as I don't do alot of sand dune riding, but it does seriously affect your powerband, pull and torque which affect how you corner, jump, hill climb, etc. etc..

1st, calm down a hair, no need to get mad.
2nd, u r right by saying how gearing effects ur powerband and basically how u ride a bit, but it isn't going to change that much, I have been aroung racing, mainly stock cars, my whole life, so I know how gearing can give u an edge. But that really is only if u are dealing with simular power output motors, there is such a difference in a ex engine and a Z, 450, etc. a simple gearing change on an old tech motor is not going to make them even.
3rd, I do like old tech because it is very reliable, but they need high tech as well. Therefore I say the ex would be fine if there was a high tech sportbike beside the mx 450r. And the price for the ex is not worth it just for reverse, a minor gear change, and copycat plastic when they should be price in the 4 thousands to very low 5 thousands range.

knowsalot, where are you man? You claimed "multiple new models from Honda" this year. I know you've got the answers, whether they're good or bad. Are there still models waiting to be released or is this it and if it is, why were the rumors flying like crazy from everywhere?
